3 may 2012: maleny and nambour screenings a great success!

Maleny - A whole lotta thank you's need to be passed on to those involved in organising and hosting a truly wonderful event; the Maleny Film Society for getting behind this film and providing their projection equipment, the knitting group and Maple St Co-Op for the soup extravaganza, Bev Hand for a beautiful welcome to country and the team of helpers on the door and handling sales. Money raised from the night goes to Mimburi, a local organisation for Cultural Workshops for Indigenous woman and girls. Well done team!!! And of course a massive thank you to those who braved the wild rain to see and support the film. (see pics below)

Nambour - It could have been Nambour's home town advantage but the turn out turned heads! Over 180 people almost filled the Nambour Civic Centre Cinema - the ticket line almost snaked out the door. This incredible support was more than we could have predicted and we can't thank you enough. Many of Joe's family were in attendence with Rex Eggmolesse speaking on behalf of Joe and the Eggmolesse family and fielding audience questions with aplomb. Thanks of course to the Nambour Civic Theatre for their wonderful support and great facilities. Seeing Fantome Island on the big screen is always a treat! Money raised from the night goes to the Cherbourg Ration Shed Project. Big thanks to Heather Johnston for dealing with the madness of the dvd sales which were in high demand. (see pics below)

And lastly a massive thanks to Mark Newman for bringing all these strands together.
